Making A Purchase
Making a purchase could not be easier. Just browse our store, and add any items that you wish to buy into the shopping cart. After you have finished your selection, click on 'Checkout' at the top of the page and you will be asked for a few details that we need to be able to complete the order.
If you are shopping in the UK, place your order through our integrated SSL company, Netbanx. This ensures safe online shopping with protecting your details from fraud. Alternatively you can submit your order over our telephone processing system between the hours of 9am - 5pm, 7 days a week. (01924 409085)
We accept Visa, Mastercard, Visa Electron, Switch and all credit and debit cards excluding American Express. We do not charge for any item until it is ready to ship. Backordered items are not charged until they are shipped. You may send your credit card information via phone or over the Internet. All products on our site are in stock and ready for despatch, if not this will be clearly illustrated.

We are pleased to inform you that the Standard Delivery costs are the same for Northern Ireland, Isle Of Man, Isle Of Wight, Scottish Islands, Scottish Highlands and Scilly Isles although delivery may take a day longer. Diamond and Express Courier Delivery DOES NOT operate within these areas, only mainland UK.
Delivery Schedule
Express Courier Service (1-2 days)
Orders received before 11am Mon-Friday are usually despatched the same day and delivered in 1-2 days, mostly next day. Although we strive to send your parcel out on the same day that it is ordered, orders received after 11am (especially during peak season) may not be processed until the next working day. For instance, any First Class Delivery orders placed after 11am on a Friday may not ship from our premises until the following Monday (excluding Bank Holidays), for delivery Tuesday/Wednesday.Please note that First Class Delivery services may be subject to delay from unavoidable circumstances outside of the control of the courier and whilst they are usually delivered on a next day service, we cannot guarantee this. We cannot be held liable for a service breakdown in this situation.
Standard Delivery
Orders received requesting second class delivery will usually be delivered between 2-5 days.
Diamond Delivery
We also operate a diamond service which is guaranteed next day delivery before 10am, providing you place the order before 11am.
You will usually receive an email letting you know when your goods have been despatched. Our couriers, DHL collect at 3.00 p.m. every week day and deliver between 8.00 a.m. and 5.30 p.m. every day (excluding weekend). A signature is always required. Therefore please have your goods sent to an address where you will be present. Ideal delivery addresses are your home, workplace or even a consenting neighbour. If you are not in when DHL attempts to deliver your parcels, they will leave their calling card requesting that you contact them to rearrange delivery. If you request that we redirect the goods to a different delivery address this will result in an additional £6.00 charge. You have 3 days in which it will remain at your local DHL depot until it is returned to us. If you fail to contact DHL and they return the goods back to us, you will be liable for the extra delivery charges incurred and an additional re-delivery and handling cost of £6.00. If the order is carriage paid due to the value of the order, we will deduct the extra shipping costs incurred before a refund is made for failed delivery of goods.
EUROPEAN DELIVERY
European delivery is split into two zones, We use DPD to deliver to European destinations.
Zone 1 charges £19.99 per box. This zone includes France, Belgium, Southern Ireland, Germany, Luxembourg and Netherlands. Delivery usually takes four working days.
Zone 2 charges £24.99 per box. This zone includes Austria, Denmark, Leichenstein and Switzerland. Delivery usually takes 5 working days.
Short Delivery or Incorrect goods
We pack hundreds of orders every day and from time to time, mistakes do occur. In this case, all we ask is that you inform us no later than 5 days of receipt of your goods. We will collect the goods at no cost to you and once we receive the goods back, well deliver the correct goods. If you decide that you would like to cancel your order in the meantime, please contact us and we will collect the order at no cost to you. We only ask that you fill in the returns form so that we can deal with your refund more promptly. Failure to complete the returns form may result in delay of payment going back into your bank account.
If you wish to send any goods back to us yourself rather than us picking them up, please complete the returns form and a receipt for the postage costs but take into account that we will only refund up to a maximum of £6.00. Back Orders
All goods on our website are in stock, we do not have any product shown on our website that is not yet in stock. Any product out of stock will be clearly illustrated on the website and in your shopping cart.
Tax Charges
For orders made from the UK, 17.5% VAT is added. Our prices reflect the VAT charges, so there will be no extra tax charges on any order you place, the price you see on screen is the price you pay.
Credit Card Security
When the order is placed at our website, credit card numbers are encrypted using 128 bit encryption and 3D secure authentication. They are only decrypted after they reach our computer. They are not held in clear text on any web site. We use a leading SSL (Secure Socket Layer) company to fulfill our orders, Netbanx. Netbanx are a leading payment service provider and will securely take your payment over the internet. Their payment services use the latest authentication and encryption technology allowing you to shop with peace of mind.
Guarantee
We guarantee your satisfaction. if you have merely changed your mind and do not want the products then we ask you return them at your own cost. We can arrange collection at a fee of £10.

Outdoor World Direct do not disclose buyers' information to third parties other than when order details are processed as part of the order fulfilment. In this case, the third party will not disclose any of the details to any other third party.
Cookies are used on this shopping site to keep track of the contents of your shopping cart, to store delivery addresses if the address book is used and to store your details if you select the 'Remember Me' Option. Cancelling an order
Once an order has been placed either online or by telephone, if you decide that you no longer want the goods, you will be subject to an administration charge of £8.00. Once orders have been dispatched, cancelling an order becomes more complex. Unfortunately, you will be charged an administration cost of 10% of the order value plus any shipping costs that have been incurred by us. (THIS IS IF YOU HAVE RETURNED THE ITEM AFTER THE 7 WORKING DAY PERIOD)
Out of stock items
Although we are constantly updating our website according to our stock availability, occasionally items will go out of stock before we have chance to remove it from our site. In this case, we will contact you immediately to let you know. If you are happy for us to send the other items, we will send this immediately and forward the missing item/(s) as soon as they are in stock. If you choose to cancel your entire order then we ask that you let us know so that we can promptly forward your details through to the refund department. You will not be charged the administration fee which applies above.
Unwanted Goods
If you receive your goods and realise that they are not quite what you want then you have the right to cancel your order within 7 working days. Please complete the Returns Form to send back with the goods to prevent delays in processing the return. You must telephone us on 0871 2711187 to book in the return as we will not accept returns without prior notice.

If you wish us to collect these items then we can arrange for DHL to collect these items from an address of your choice at a cost of £10.00. If you would rather send the items back at your own cost then this they must be back with us within 14 days. However you are responsible for these items until they reach us. For this reason, we advise that you use a secure delivery service which asks for a signature upon delivery. However you choose to send the goods back to us, we will refund the goods less any delivery costs incurred by us in the transportation of the goods. If your goods were delivered free of charge, we will deduct our costs of shipping the item before making the refund to the original payment card used. Refunds are usually processed relatively quickly although by law, we have 30 days to refund money back.
Goods must be returned in the original condition in which they were received, fresh smelling and with the original tickets attached. If the above are not complied with, we may not make a full refund. This does mean that unless a tent is pitched indoors only, it will be deemed second hand which will prevent us from returning your money into your bank account.

Your Statutory rights are not affected by any of the above.
Defective Goods (excluding tents)
If you find that any items you receive (excluding tents) are faulty, you must inform us within 7 days of receipt of the products. We will arrange the collection of these goods and once the goods are back in our possession and confirmed to be faulty, we will despatch a replacement.
If you change your mind and no longer want the goods, we will collect the goods from you free of charge. All we ask is that you telephone us to arrange collection and complete a Returns Form to send back with your faulty goods. If you wish to return the goods to us yourself then please enclose a completed Returns Form and a receipt of the postage cost. Please bear in mind that the maximum we will refund is £6.00 postage cost.
If goods appear to have been damaged in transit, then we will need to process a claim which could delay a refund.
Tent Returns/ Policy regarding replacement
The return of tents is a complex issue for us. This is because we must protect both ourselves and ultimately the customer. However there are people out there that do not read the advice and instructions provided with our tents and have hence damaged a perfectly satisfactory tent. For this reason, we have come up with the following framework in order to deal with tent returns:

Tent Returns/ Policy regarding replacement
The return of tents is a complex issue for us. This is because we must protect both ourselves and ultimately the customer. For this reason, we have come up with the following framework in order to deal with tent returns:
Tent Instructions
In order to help give you as much guidance as we can, we send instructions on how to erect the tent with every tent purchased plus our own information sheet is available to download which includes some extra tips to avoid the common mistakes made when erecting a tent.
Damaged or faulty tents
If upon erection of your tent, you think that the tent is damaged, then please contact us within 7 days of receipt of delivery of the tent. If we can solve the problem from a distance e.g. by sending a replacement pole in the post, then this is the course of action that we will take initially. If this does not solve the problem, we will request that you return the tent back to us for us to inspect closely along with the manufacturers representative. If there is a problem with the customer returning the tent to us we may in exceptional circumstances, arrange for its collection. Unfortunately until the inspection process is complete we are not able to issue the customer with a replacement or refund.
Sometimes it is necessary that we send the tent back to the manufacturers for inspection. In this case some brands such as Outwell, Easy Camp and Robens have to go back to Denmark which can take 3-4 weeks for the completion of the inspection process.
If the tent is found to be faulty, we will immediately send a replacement tent or refund the costs of the tent plus any shipping costs incurred by the customer.
If a tent is returned to us more than 30 days old and found to be faulty, then credit or a replacement will be issued.With your cooperation and understanding, we can deal with this efficiently. We do not tolerate any abuse towards our staff.
'Our products are not for commercial use, if this is the case on inspection ,we shall not honour the guarantee.'
