A simple query we get many times per camping season, is campers thinking their tent or awning has a manufacturing defect because an air tube is leaking air. On the contrary, this issue is usually a simple fix, by just tightening the air valve. The following brands all use the same valve on their inflatable tents:
- Outdoor Revolution
- Outwell
- Coleman Air
- Zonda
- Berghaus
Please note this would not be a Vango-related issue, as the Vango Airspeed Valve has a different design.
Here's a photo of the valve:
Many tents come with the valve repair tool in the repair kit, but if not you can purchase a spare one here:
How to fix a leaking Air Valve of an Inflatable Tent or Awning:
- Unscrew the valve cap
- Insert the valve tool
- Tighten clockwise
It is a wise idea to tighten each beam valve on any air tent or awning, as often the factory does not fully tighten the valve, leading to a slow air leak. If your issue persists, contact your retailer to organise a replacement beam as necessary.
Happy Camping!!
