Details

Berth – This shows the number of people that the tent can sleep within the inner tents of a model of tent, in line with the industry standard. Normal procedure is to look for a slightly larger tent, for example, a family of four usually purchase a five or six berth tent, to give added room and comfort.

Hydrostatic Head (mm) 4000
Details

Hydrostatic Head (Tents) – a waterproof rating for technical fabrics measured in mm. The higher the rating the more waterproof the fabric is. A rating of 1500mm is deemed waterproof, but on a tent, look for a rating of 3000 or higher. Measured by the height of water column a fabric weave can take before it begins to “sweat”. “Polycotton” tents will not have a Hydrostatic Head level, as they are not treated for waterproofing.

Polyester – a synthetic fibre, made from polymer units to create a textile fabric. Polyester is the most popular fabric for tent manufacturing, as it is durable, reliable and lighter in weight. Polyester does not breathe though, which creates more condensation.

Polycotton - a blend of polyester and cotton, primarily cotton (usually around 65% cotton / 35% polyester split). Polycotton is a more natural fabric for camping, as it is breathable, far more durable material, reducing the effects of condensation. Offers greater versatility in hot and cold climates.

Ripstop Nylon – a durable material used in tents which is strong and repairable due to its Ripstop properties.

Groundsheet Fabric PE - 10,000mm - durable and reliable groundsheet
Inner Fabric Breathable Inner Tent - reduces condensation within the tent
Window Fabric Diamond Clear PVC Windows add maximum light and visibility

Fire Retardant – all modern tent fabrics are fire-retardant under EN5912 European Safety Laws. Caution with fire must always be used, as flame retardant fabrics, will still catch fire given the right circumstances.

Specifications
  • Flysheet and inner pitch together making it simple and quick to pitch and pack
  • The Vango patented TBS II – Tension Band System ensures that your tent performs in adverse conditions, especially strong, changeable winds. In calm conditions the system can be disconnected if desired. When tensioned, the bands brace the pole and prevent sideways movement. The buckles should be adjusted so that slack is removed, but not over tensioned, as this may deform the poles.
  • The Protex 70 Denier polyester flysheet is a highly waterproof, durable and reliable fabric that will keep you dry and comfortable, and it's exclusive to Vango
  • All flysheet and groundsheet seams are factory taped, giving a water tight seal
  • PE groundsheets are robust, hardwearing and waterproof to 10,000mm. Ideal fabric to stand up to the rigours of the most active of campers
  • Breathable polyester inner tent- the fabric allows condensation to pass through, ensuring a comfortable nights sleep
  • PE inner tent groundsheet provides a robust, hardwearing and waterproof bathtub style base
  • The guy lines are attached to the tent at optimum positions for stability and tension.
  • All poles are identical, for ease of pitching. • Conveniently positioned inner tent pockets store snacks, torches or electronics
  • Large Diamond Clear PVC windows for maximum light and great visibility
  • All Vango tents use fully fire retardant fabrics that meet the European EN5912 safety standard which will give you and your family peace of mind
  • We weather test each of our tents to the European standard EN5912, in a certified wind and rain test centre. This is to prove the tent can perform to advertised standards.
  • Vango AirZone- High and low level ventilation panels combine to create a comfortable flow of air through the tent
  • One doorway has a mesh door - which can be left open to allow extra ventilation
